Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 titles have been earned on hard surfaces

A resurgent Medvedev secured his maiden title for over two years with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament final.

Medvedev, a ex- number one, has experienced a challenging year, managing just a single victory at the big events and suffering a meltdown at the New York tournament.

The player's varied form on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his service game in especial - led to him exiting of the top ten and ultimately separating with former mentor Cervara.

Presently working with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently advanced in the last few weeks - culminating in a tightly fought competitive victory over opponent Moutet.

This marks the player's maiden title after the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hardcourt after that period of 2023.

Victory also means he has achieved 21 titles at 21 distinct competitions.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a competition with my two daughters simultaneously, so to win a championship is especially meaningful," said tennis professional Medvedev.

"This title is in honour of my younger daughter my daughter, because the first title I achieved when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The athlete, the past champion, had been defeated in his past six title deciders, comprising in Halle earlier this year.

The player's retrieving strategy and regular emotional displays on court had caused commentators to question if his skill to perform at the highest level was over.

However the athlete has implemented adjustments in the past month, attempting to advance forward and compete aggressively, supported by an improved serve.

The champion recovered from a break down in the initial set against the tricky Frenchman, taking 4 of the final five exchanges to take the lead.

Both players traded break points in the middle set before the Frenchman, bidding for his initial professional title, gained dominance to create a third set.

He saved 4 early-game chances in a close deciding set before the champion secured a break to that score to serve for the match.

Fittingly, Medvedev clinched the title with a shot at the net, with Moutet incapable to control a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
